Delta Academy Visit: How Global Charity Foundation’s Support Is Making a Real Difference

When donors, community partners, and proud supporters come together, real change can be seen and felt. That was the spirit of our recent The Delta Academy visit. The Atrium LLC, including human-resources consultant and Founder, Kenny Walker from Sacramento, CA flew in to tour The Delta Academy, our long-time partner school in North Las Vegas. For over a year and a half, his charitable contributions have helped sustain tutoring, resources, and vital support for the students there. The visit confirmed to all of us: the impact is real, and the future is bright.

Upon arrival, the group was welcomed by Dr. Kyle Konold, Superintendent of The Delta Academy, and Gary Sudol, Treasurer and Board Member of Global Charity Foundation. Their visit was enriched by an immersive campus tour led by Austin Congleton, Middle School Principal, whose commitment to every student’s success radiated through each stop along the way.

What is Delta Academy & Why It Matters

The Delta Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving grades 6–12. Its mission is centered on helping every child rebuild confidence, rediscover a love for learning, and reach academic success—especially those whose needs were not met in traditional school settings.

With multiple learning pathways, traditional, online, hybrid, and collegiate dual-credit—Delta ensures that all students, including those facing personal or academic challenges, have accessible routes to graduation and future opportunities.

Walking through the campus, the group quickly saw the heart of Delta’s approach:

  • Success charts lining the hallways
  • Two teachers in every classroom to ensure individualized learning
  • Hands-on, innovative lessons that build problem-solving and creativity
  • A strong culture of encouragement and excellence

In one memorable room, students participated in a creative engineering challenge using paper, straws, and other materials to build a device capable of lifting a golf ball—without touching it. This wasn’t just fun; it was a powerful lesson in planning, resourcefulness, teamwork, and innovation.

Why This Visit Mattered

As the team toured 5th through 7th grade classrooms, the energy was palpable. Students were engaged. Teachers were focused. Collaboration and critical thinking were everywhere.

For Kenny Walker and the visiting staff from the partner company, witnessing the impact of their contributions firsthand was affirming. They saw exactly how Global Charity Foundation’s educational support helps create environments where children who were once falling behind now flourish.

For Superintendent Dr. Kyle Konold, the visit highlighted the meaningful partnership between Delta Academy and GCF. And for Gary Sudol, long-time GCF Board Member and Treasurer, it was an opportunity to show donors how responsibly and effectively funds are used to strengthen learning outcomes.

This was more than a tour; it was a celebration of what can happen when a community decides to pour into its youth.

How Global Charity Foundation Makes an Impact

For many years, Global Charity Foundation has supported Delta Academy by funding:

  • Tutoring programs
  • Classroom resources
  • Technology and educational materials
  • College-readiness initiatives
  • Scholarships and supplemental learning opportunities

These contributions ensure that every child, especially those facing disadvantages, has a fair opportunity to succeed.

Our donors, like Kenny, make all this possible. Their generosity fuels environments where academic confidence grows, pathways to success expand, and students discover what they’re capable of.

Why This Matters: Student Success Stories and Broader Benefits

  • Second chances for deserving students — Many Delta students come from difficult backgrounds: they might have fallen behind, faced instability, or had learning challenges. Delta’s individualized education models offer a supportive reset.
  • Flexible learning pathways — The variety of models (traditional, online, hybrid, dual-credit college classes) helps students balance education with life’s demands — a key advantage especially for older teens.
  • Building life and career readiness — Programs like the Step-Up College Program — allowing juniors/seniors to take free courses at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), give teens a head start toward higher education or vocational goals.
  • Encouraging creativity and critical thinking — As our tour witnessed, hands-on assignments like building contraptions to pick up a golf ball, teach innovation, resource planning, and problem-solving. That kind of education builds confidence and real-world thinking.
