The Global Charity Foundation was founded in February 2007 and carries out a mission to provide health care and education assistance to the most needy in the United States and India.

In the US, we provide educational assistance for at-risk and less privileged children through our Community Education Program in many different schools in greater Las Vegas. In collaboration with Southern Nevada Children First, we launched a Global Charity Foundation Health Care Program in May, 2015.

In India, we provide chemotherapy treatment for indigent children with cancer. Education assistance is also provided for street children in India. To learn more about our current programs, click here.

Reeta Kaul Thukral,


Dr Reeta K. Thukral immigrated to United States of America in 1973. She has practiced medicine as a kidney specialist for over 35 years in the US. She has also practiced medicine in India and New Zealand. Dr. Thukral currently resides in Las Vegas NV.

Dr. Thukral is also Founder / President of Man Mohini Kaul Charitable Medical Trust in India

James Saavedra


Jim Saavedra is a registered professional engineer in the state of Nevada and is currently the Director of the Substation and Technical Operations Department at NV Energy. Jim has held numerous leadership positions at NV Energy. He has a Bachelor of Science Degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics as well as a Master’s in Business Administration. He is a Board Member for the Family and Child Treatment Center of Southern Nevada (FACT). He resides in Las Vegas.

Renita K. Thukral


Renita K. Thukral lives in San Francisco, California, and runs an independent legal, civil rights and consulting practice serving public charter schools and their students across the country. She earned her J.D. from Yale Law School in 2001 and her B.A. from Stanford University in 1997..

Rohini KT McKee


Rohini KT McKee received her Master’s in Public Policy at the University of Southern California’s Price School of Public Policy. Rohini is a management consultant with UPD. Prior to attending graduate school, Rohini was a Senior Business Consultant with IBM for three years. She specialized in Organizational Change Strategy. Rohini received her undergraduate degree from the George Washington University in 2005 with focus on political science and criminal justice. She resides in Pal Alto, California.

Richard Sullivan


Richard Sullivan is the owner of Alternative Media Services, an audio/video production and marketing business. Originally from Silver Spring, MD., Rich earned his B.A. in Radio, Television & Film from the University of Maryland, College Park. He has been involved in the Las Vegas community since 1988.

Doug Gold


Doug Gold is a Wealth Director for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Prior to joining BNY Mellon in 2017 he spent 18 years at a large regional bank in town. He was born and raised in Las Vegas and is active in several organizations throughout the valley. He attended UNLV and lives in Summerlin with his wife, Monika.

Leopoldo Adaoag


Leopoldo Adaoag is a multi-faceted administrative professional with 8+ years of experience supporting executives, employees, and department managers to enhance internal operations for small businesses.

Leopoldo has a unique and diverse set of skills including administrative support, human resources, and accounting. As an alumnus of Basic High School and Nevada State College, Leopoldo is looking forward to graduating from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas as a Master of Business Administration. He is approaching 10+ enjoyable years of working with youth as a teacher and adviser, helping them prepare and accomplish life goals.


Jacqueline Nguyen-Lee

Jacqueline Nguyen is an attorney, having barred in Texas, California and Nevada. Jacqueline has been involved philanthropically with the community. She served as Chair and Planning Committee Member for events and outreach projects for the American Diabetes Association, the Nevada State Medical Association, the Clark County Medical Society Alliance, the Springs Preserve Foundation, the American Heart Association, the Junior League, Positively Kids Foundation and more.

Jacqueline is also the President for the Nevada State Medical Association Alliance and served two consecutive terms as President of the Clark County Medical Society Association Alliance. She serves also as a Board Member for the Nevada Physician Wellness Coalition. Nationally, Jacqueline is slated to serve on the Alliance Health Education Initiative Board. Jacqueline also serves on the Advisory Boards for the Indian Chamber of Commerce. She was the Director of Membership for the American Medical Association Alliance, the only Nevadan in history to serve on the AMAA National Board.

Violeta Alcantra

Violeta Alcantara is Vice- President & Senior Relationship Manager for Bank of Nevada. She has more than 20 years of Business/Commercial banking industry experience in California & Nevada. In previous positions, she has won multiple professional awards from major financial institutions including Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

Ms. Alcantara participates in many local organizations such as Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Asian Chamber of Commerce, Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Water Street District Business Association (WSDBA) and Japan American Society of Nevada (JASN).

Ms. Alcantara earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (Honors program) in Economics from De La Salle University and completed an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Bart Patterson

Bart Patterson was appointed as president of Nevada State College on April 30, 2012 after serving as interim president for six months. Through his years of service at Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), Bart is familiar with the mission of Nevada State College. In his role, he has established two top priorities. The first is to improve retention and graduation rates — which is a top priority system-wide. Secondly, to look at innovative ways to build NSC while dealing with limited state funding.

Monica Coburn

Monica Coburn is a Senior Vice President in Commercial Banking for Mutual of Omaha Bank. Prior to joining Mutual of Omaha Bank, she was a Senior Relationship Manager with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and has worked in a number of various positions within the industry including Regional Manager and SBA Lending Manager. She has been very active in Community and has received numerous award for her professional achievements and community work.
